Dubmail

Postby jdtaylor » Fri Apr 15, 2005 8:46 pm

Hi,

If you are visiting this forum to find out what is going on with dubmail. then to be quiet honest I don't know either, I have sent the admin an email to try and find out and as soon as I know I will let you know, but it seems as though the whole mail server is down but the main www.dubmail.net site is up although I think this is running on a seperate server but if you do find you can't access your account the most probbale reason is because Dubmail is down and it has been over the last few days and I do know there have bene problems with spammers abuising the service and it could be their isp has disconnected them, but I think it is something like this due to the such major downtime people are experincing.

If you do know any more please reply to this topic but whta I have said here is all I know from what I know myself.

Are you not the Administrator of Dubmaill, and you do not know what is going on? :D

Wilbur sent out an email to all users indicating that free users will not have remote access, that is no more free POP3, IMAP, and SMTP. Free users will have their mailbox reduced to 250MB from 1000MB.

Wilbur is upgrading the servers for paid accounts and when he is done, free users will be downgraded. Free Email Guide listings should reflect the change.

The odd thing is my premium account has been totally down in regards to pop/smtp and imap when it is meant to be up as a premium member. Also, I have been finding the forum and webmail system have also been inaccessible which actually makes me think it is the server as I know there have been problems with spammers abusing the system, and the isp threaterning to disconnect them, and this is what may have happened because the main site is still up, and I believe this is hosted seperatley.

I am going to be trying again today but it has been down for the last few days anyway so I do think it is the isp issue.

Dubmail is back up for now. I can access by webmail and POP3. Storage shows 1000MB, so I have not been down graded.

This does seem to be one of the things that has been happeniong, but I have a feeling this is something to do with the recent downtime and problems intergrating the new software to do this.

I would recommend looking at http://mail.dubmail.net/forum/ for more information.

Hi,

It does seem as though there may be some reliability isssues while they switch over to the new system, but if you are in ened of a reliable provider try looking at http://www.bgxmail.net for bigger storage pop/imap access and an account size of around 10gb which is a lot more than dubmail.

Jdtaylor,

I know you are the moderator of BGXmail also. BGX does not have remote SMTP. They offered 10,000MB. then 100MB, now back to 10,000MB. To keep your account, they required you to give your personal info away by clicking on ads and filling in the forms. And BGX was down for a time yesterday also.

-----------------------------------------
To all users,

Please note that Bgxmail.net is going to start deleting old user accounts. To keep your account active, please visit this link.

http://1.primaryads.com/z/5973/CD5388/

To keep your account active. Please do the following.

1) iull out this form.

You must click Submit and use realistic information. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT to use your actual address and include other information, you must find a VALID US address, two phone numbers, ZIP code and everything else on that list for this form to work.

This allows Bgxmail.net to weed out old accounts and allows us to continue making more revenue. Please do not use a proxy. Your IP address will be sent to us and will be matched against your account login IP to keep your Bgxmail.net account active.

Thank you,

My understand of the email is:-
bgxmail does not insist on require your actual personal info. Bgxmail ask you fill the form and fill a valid USA address....for the form to work.

Usf,

Yes, I got the memo. But that is like asking me to lie. And won't the advertiser know somthing is wrong when they find out 200 people are using the same 2 addresses?

Dubmail is closed. This thread should not remain a Sticky. And the Dubmail should be deleted from Free Email Guide list.
