Recently set up Gmail POP for my Mozilla Thunderbird account and cannot recieve any new messages after the initial download of all messages to my computer. Tried all various combinations of options in Gmail including deleting all messages on Gmail after download and still no joy. To download new messages I have to re-configure Gmail POP again each time.
Any suggestions?

So emails will download from Gmail web server to Outlook the first time, but then nothing happens afterward.

Try alternate POP3 server pop.googlemail.com

also try to set your username as recent:yourusername(at)gmail . com

Makes you download the last 30 days worth of e-mails more than once
