Hotmail Problem

Hi as of last night I can not access my hotmail a/c in Outlook Express, I have always used oE with no prob, the message I get is:- "Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Forbidden', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 998, Error Number: 0x800CCC33"[/b]
Can anyone help?....Sam Stuart

Although this info references Microsoft Outlook, it is likely the same applies to Outlook Express.

If you have an MSN or Hotmail account and are suddenly getting ‘access denied’ errors when you try to download mail through Outlook you probably missed the announcement that access using the HTTP protocol was going to end for good on Sept 1.

From now on out, users will need to use either the Outlook Connector or POP3/SMTP.

Outlook Connector – works with Outlook 2003/2007 only.
