Spam, spam, spam, spam... ?

Postby robert@fm » Sat Jul 31, 2004 8:45 pm

Even in the OT area, is this kind of topic allowed?  (Indeed, should it be?)

(There should be a "report this post" link, as there is on most message boards these days...)

Every time I look in these forums, they look more and more the way the FEPG forum did — more and more spam (the copyright thieves of SGIES have posted numerous spams recently, pausing only to libel EMD's Edwin Hayward because he's not so stupid as to put up with their nonsense there; and the most recent three of the five OT Area topics are all Russian-Bride scam spams); and now I've found this blatant Ponzi scam spam.

If this forum is to have any usefulness at all, it urgently needs to get some moderators, and to have posting without registering disabled — and I would suggest that their first action be to ban all the spammers...

Hi Robert,
I've deleted the posts. I am trying to update this board to the latest version and I hope I'll finish this update soon.

I'm sorry Admin, Robert might be talking about me... I'm a mod at UES forums and yes I have been on line to some sights trying to correct some information.

the old SGIES.com is gone, dead and buried.

UnitedEmailSystems have bought the name and are now using it as part of their email name base....

If stating these facts annoys people, I'm sorry...

I also had to add the disclaimer that vliou had nothing to do with UES as this apparently also is the cause of some discomfort and discussion around email forums... again I appologise if this annoys anyone...

If you wish clarification of any details please contact admin@unitedemailsystems.com.

Thanks

Gavin

I agree, at least if "bigredmusic" is referring to (all of) his own postings -- he's doing to this forum what he tried to do to EMD, which is why he and his service are banned from there...

Guess what my nominees for the first recipients of the "banned from FEG" award are.

bigredmusic wasnt a mod when ues was banned .
ive stated this time and time again.
vilou had nothing to do with united email systems.
and yet people still go around blaming them for what he did on his own.
a lot of you know him and you know he would do it.

Sorry this is a late reply Robert, but to shoot down one of your statements, I have never been banned from any site, ever...

I was not a mod for UES during Mr Vilou's reign of terror and since I have been with UES Mr Vilou has never worked there BUT has been banned from the forum for incorrect behavior.

As the forum is free and just requires a registration to join I can't see any problem... If you spent a minute to register it probably would have saved you hours of mental anguish wondering what was "hidden " there.

Hi,

As many people have commented this kind of post should not be allowed, and I am going to close this thread. Apologies I haven't been in early, I have been very busy the last few days.
